Concordia outscored Dominican 15-12 in game two of their record-setting doubleheader today. This time the Falcons scored 8 times in the first inning and racked up 18 hits in total as they held off the frustrated Stars.
CUW combined six hits, a walk, and a costly outfield error to accumulate the 8 run first, but Dominican pounded Concordia starter Cory Stark and reliever Joe Jagiello for 16 hits and a dozen runs over the first seven innings as they got back within 14-12.
Matt Mayer was the "arm of the hour" for Val Keiper's club as he came on for 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to save Stark's second win of the season.
Dan Shea was 4-6 for CUW in this game while Mayer and Dan
Mueller added 3 hits each.
