Falcons drop 12-2 decision to Aurora

The Falcons scored twice in the top of the first, but it was all Aurora after that as the hosts scored a 12-2 win in the opener of Saturday's doubleheader.

CUW's Derrick Pankow, 11-0 over two seasons heading into Saturday action, could not get his fastball past the Spartans on this day and lost for the first time in a Falcon uniform..

Aurora combined 14 hits and two walks for a 10-2 lead before Pankow departed. The Falcons, meanwhile, managed only 6 hits off Aurora ace Steve Salazar.

Matt Mayer and Dan Shea had first inning RBIs for Val Keiper's team which fell to 6-3 in the league behind Aurora's 7-2 mark.
