Loves Park, IL

This time it was the Falcons who were faced with a big early deficit and had to battle back into contention against the #! seeded Eagles.

Edgewood got 4 runs in the top of the first, combining five hits and a walk to build the early cushion.

CUW got two of those runs back in their half of the inning on RBI's by Ryan Schilter and Adam Martz.

The potent Eagles added 2 more in the second inning but Dan Shea's two run homer in the third offfset those scores and kept CUW within reach at 6-4..

Edgewood upped their lead to 8-4 in the fifth before CUW's Matt Schilter belted a 3 run homer to make it 8-7 after six frames.

Eagle hurler Matt Krueger actually appeared to get stronger as the game went on, however, holding the Falcons to a single hit over the final three innings.

The day's second loss eliminated Concordia from the tournament and ended the Falcon season at 22-18.
