MEQUON, Wis. – Head coach Shawn Cassidy released the 2012-13 Concordia University Wisconsin men's basketball schedule on Tuesday, which is highlighted by four tournaments, including the Concordia Invitational Tournament, and difficult Northern Athletics Conference home contests.

The schedule features 25 games in all – eight at home and 17 on the road – with nine contests against non-conference opponents and 16 against Northern Athletics Conference foes. Overall, the Falcons will play just one home game during their first 11 contests.

CUW begins the season at the Johnson Bank Tip-Off Tournament, hosted by Carroll University, on Nov. 16 and 17. The Falcons will play the host-Pioneers at 8 p.m. prior to competing against Buena Vista University or Carthage College on Saturday. The consolation game is scheduled for 1 p.m., while the championship contest is at 3 p.m. on Nov. 17. Both CU and BVU played in the NCAA Division III Tournament last season.

Marian University will be the Falcons first NAC opponent on Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. in Fond du Lac, Wis. Last year CUW finished 14-2 in league play, winning its third-consecutive North Division title.

A non-conference road matchup against Elmhurst College on Nov. 29 will end the month of November for the Falcons.

A NAC road game against rival Lakeland College on Dec. 5 precedes CUW's home opener at Saturday, Dec. 8 at 4:15 p.m. versus Maranatha Baptist Bible College. Last year the Falcons finished 11-1 inside the friendly confines of the R. John Buuck Field House.

CUW then makes its longest road trip of the year – over 1,200 miles – to Daytona, Fla., to compete in the Daytona Beach Shootout. The Falcons are scheduled to play against the College of Mount Saint Vincent (Riverdale, N.Y.) on Dec. 19 before facing Bates College (Lewiston, Maine) on Dec. 20.

CUW returns home to participate in the JustAgame Holiday Classic in Wisconsin Dells, Wis. The Falcons play UW-Oshkosh on Dec. 29 prior to battling UW-Stout on Dec. 30 to end the 2012 calendar year. A year ago, CUW went 3-1 against schools from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The month of January favors the Falcons, but it will be difficult, with six of their 11 contests at home. While they get to play at home for an extended stretch, they will play 11 games during a 27-day period.

A road contest at Concordia University Chicago comes before home games against Benedictine University on Jan. 5 at 4:15 p.m. and MSOE on Jan. 9 at 7 p.m.

A difficult four-game stretch over one week faces CUW in mid-January. The Falcons travel to Aurora University before hosting Marian University on Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. They return to the road versus Edgewood College prior to welcoming Dominican University on Jan. 19 at 4:15 p.m. to the R. John Buuck Field House.

A NAC home matchup against Lakeland College on Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. paves the way for the 62nd Annual Concordia Invitational Tournament that will be played on Jan. 25 and 26 in Seward, Neb. The Falcons are scheduled to play Concordia University Ann Arbor at 2 p.m. (CDT) on Jan. 25. The consolation and championship game will be played the following day.

Home contests against Edgewood College on Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. and Rockford College on Feb. 2 at 4:15 p.m. will conclude the home portion of the Falcons schedule.

CUW finishes the regular season with three-straight NAC road matchups versus MSOE, Wisconsin Lutheran College and Maranatha Baptist Bible College.

The NAC Challenge Game is no longer, which means the regular season standings will determine the seeding for the NAC Tournament, which begins on Feb. 16.
