MEQUON, Wis.- Offensive-minded Marian has been averaging close to 80 points per game while accumulating a 2-2 non-conference record to date. The platooning Sabres are led by Cody Veleke (15.8 ppg) and Sam Koslowski (10.2), but eight other players are scoring at least four points per game.
Marian has shot the ball extremely well (48.7%) from the floor and has outboarded opponents by about two rebounds per game. The Sabres have also been passing the ball effectively, accumulating better than 16 assists per contest.
Marian opened the season with a loss to William Penn. Since then the Sabres have defeated Indiana/Dabney 95-54, lost to Lawrence 83-76, and topped Ripon 76-74.
Last season the Falcons crushed Marian 82-54 in Fond du lac, but needed overtime to complete the sweep (89-85) when the teams met in Mequon.
