WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin placed 11th on Monday to complete the two-day Marian University Invite at Morningside Golf Course.
Sophomore Chris Payne (Waukesha, Wis.) led the Falcons with a 14-over-par 158 to finish in 14th overall out of 63 golfers. He shot an 85 on Sunday before improving by 12 shots with a 1-over-par 73 to close the tournament.
Carthage College won the Invite with a 10-under-par 566 total, while Edgewood College placed second with a 14-over-par 590 total. Individually, Donnie Langland (Carthage College) earned medalist honors with a 7-under-par 137 total. His teammate, Brad Hyland, took second with a 5-under-par 139 total.
Freshman Mike Loftus (Germantown, Wis.) tied for 47th with a 170 total, while senior Eric Hertel (Franklin, Wis.) tied for 52nd with a 175 total. Freshman Jason Meyer (Dunlap, Ill.) ended in a tie for 56th with a 177 total. Freshman Elijah Glasenapp (Milwaukee, Wis.) completed an 80 round on Monday.
CUW will return to the course on Sunday for the second half of the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament, which is to be played at Stonebridge Country Club in Aurora, Ill.
