Zach Gaynor was named an assistant
coach with the Concordia University Wisconsin men’s hockey
program in March, 2012. Gaynor has an extensive hockey background
that began at a young age. He played Juniors in Springfield, Mo.,
as well as in Nipawin, Saskatchewan. He also played for the
University of Oregon in the ACHA during the 2007-2008 season, when
they won their division title and made an appearance at
regionals.
After playing hockey at UO, he moved to Fond du Lac, Wis., to play
hockey at Marian University. While obtaining his undergraduate
degree in business administration with an emphasis in sport and
recreation management, Gaynor was asked to help coach the Marian
University team under head coach Jasen Wise. During their three
years together at MU they coached a 20-win season, two-straight
Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Tournament Championship
appearances, and the school's first All-American.
Gaynor will work primarily with the defensemen this season, as
well as focusing on recruiting. He is in the process of
obtaining his MBA from Concordia University and looks forward to
the seasons to come.
