Falcon men defeat Beloit booters 3-0
Box Score: CUW 3, BC 0
Beloit, Wis. -- "As unlucky as we were over the weekend, that's how amazingly lucky we were today," sighed Coach Tom Saleska. "It was not pretty like a 3-0 game should be."
The veteran coach was referring to the fact that Buccaneer shots "hit the post on no less than five different occasions" and the hosts outhustled his Falcons.
"We did not play very well at all - sluggish and at times... brutal; the final score is very misleading," surmised Saleska.
CUW got first half goals from freshman Alberto Valle (Milwaukee/Marquette HS) who bent a direct kick around the visitors wall, and Jacob Streicher who launched a corner kick that "may have been misjudged" but floated into the net.
Concordia's final score came in the last twenty minutes when Jacob Pope carried the ball all the way to the attacking zone and laid off a pass to Valle. CUW is now 2-2 in non conference action with Adrian College coming to Mequon next Sunday for a non-conference matchup.
