OSHKOSH, Wis.- Concordia Wisconsin's Sam Ische (Sr./ Menomonee Falls, Wis.) was spectacular in goal for all ninety minutes of regulation, but UW-O's Chris Kurth knocked home the golden goal in overtime to give the host Titans a 1-0 win over Tom Saleska's Falcons Saturday night.
These two teams have had numerous memorable evenly played encounters over the years, but this match was actually somewhat one sided except for the score. "Their athleticism took over in the second half," explained Coach Saleska.
UW-O owned a 17-2 shot advantage overall and only a nine save performance by Ische and stellar defensive work by his teammates kept CUW in the game.
"Yes, we played very well in the back and Ische had an excellent game."
The always potent Titans improved to 4-1-1 on the season while the Falcons are now 4-4-0 after another heartbreaking non-conference defeat.
