MEQUON, Wis.- All things considered, Concordia Wisconsin men's soccer contingent was fortunate to come away with a draw against MSOE this afternoon and a piece of a 3-way tie for second place in the final regular season NAC standings. Both team wound up 8-2-1 in league play behind undefeated Dominican.
Aurora defeated WLC 3-1 to also wind up 8-2-1 and earn the #2 seed based on their 3-2 double OT win over CUW.
League playoff pairings will be announced tomorrow but the Falcons will have to play Sunday in a first round match based on the litany of seeding criteria.
Jacob Pope (Jr./ Muskego, Wis.) gave the Falcons an early lead when he skillfully corralled a ball in the box and turned to beat the MSOE goalie.
After being frustrated by CUW goalie Sam Ische (Sr./ Menomonee Falls, Wis.) on numerous scoring chances throughout, the Raiders finally tied the match in the 71st minute on a goal by Logan Andryk the league's second leading scorer.
Saleska's Falcons did a great job of defending Jordan Werner, the league's best offensive player, but Andryk got off an amazing 11 shots.
MSOE dominated statistically, outshooting CUW by a 27-12 margin.
