Men's Tennis advances to NCAA Tournament
KOHLER, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin used a convincing 5-1 victory over MSOE on Friday evening at the Kohler Sports Core to win the Northern Athletics Conference Men's Tennis Tournament title, earning their third trip to the NCAA Tournament in the last four seasons.
CUW's No. 1 singles player, Brian Tresedder (senior, Kingsford, Mich.), also dominated the competition on Saturday and Sunday to easily win the NAC singles title.
CUW made it to the NAC Championship match after blanking Aurora University 5-0 in the conference semifinal matchup.The Falcons dominated all three doubles matches in that contest before Tresedder and sophomore Russell Johnson(Monticello, Minn.) completed their straight set singles match victories to give CUW the win.
Later, the Falcons won two of three doubles matches against MSOE before their 1-3 singles competitors were victorious.
CUW was undefeated this season against NAC opponents and has now won 5-of-6 NAC Championships. The Falcons await pairings for the NCAA Tournament.
