Johnson earns NAC Player of the Week honors
WAUKESHA, Wis. - Concordia
University Wisconsin men's tennis player Russell Johnson earned
Northern Athletics Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday
afternoon, the league office announced.
The sophomore from Monticello,
Wis., finished a perfect 8-0 in singles and doubles play this past
week for the Falcons (7-10, 4-0 NAC). He was 4-0 at No. 3 singles,
with all four victories coming in straight sets.
Johnson also
finished 4-0 at No. 2 doubles, winning by scores of 8-1, 8-2, 8-3
and 8-0 as his team won all four matches for its seventh-straight
victory. The honor is the first of his career.
CUW returns to the court
on Saturday for a dual against conference foe Rockford College and
Aurora University, beginning at 2 p.m.
