Nommensen earns NACC Men's Tennis weekly award

WAUKESHA, Wis. - Junior Benjamin Nommensen has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week for events of April 21-27, as selected by the league's sports information directors.

Nommensen (Waupaca, Wis.) was 3-0 in singles and doubles play, helping the Falcons (13-12, 7-2 NACC) to three league wins last week. He did not drop a set in his three singles wins, two coming at No. 3 and one at No. 4. He partnered with Garrett Wells for three No. 2 doubles win, two of those coming by 8-0 scores.

Nommensen and the Falcons also played earlier today and won their opening round match in the NACC Tournament over Concordia University Chicago. He and Wells picked up a win at No. 2 doubles. Nommensen was up in his singles match but that went unfinished as CUW recorded the decisive fifth point.

CUW will be back in action on Saturday in the semifinals of the NACC Tournament. The Falcons will face Edgewood College at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison.
