MEQUON, Wis. - After competing in the Tadd Metzger Invitational at Carthage College last weekend, the Concordia University Wisconsin men's and women's track & field teams will travel to Kenosha, Wis. once more to take part in the Parkside Track & Field Classic on Saturday.
The meet will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, and will be held inside the Petretti Fieldhouse on the campus of UW-Parkside.
Last weekend, the Falcon men finished seventh at Carthage while the women placed eighth, and both teams got solid performances from a number of different athletes.
For the men, senior Vincent Greefkes (Jackson, Wis.) took first place in the 55m Hurdles with a time of 7.85 seconds, while CUW took fourth place in the 4x400m Relay behind a strong team effort from freshman Ryan Gardner (Winneconne, Wis.), sophomore Jonny Balsman (Rockford, Ill.), senior Alex Pawlak (Colgate, Wis.), and sophomore Sean Pawlak (Germantown, Wis.).
On the women's side, sophomore Jessica Hennig (Springfield, Ill.) finished third in the 800m Run with a final time of 2:31.26, while junior Bethany Doerr (Chilton, Wis.) and freshman Samantha Nelson (Frederic, Wis.) placed third and fourth, respectively, in the 5,000m Run.
UW-Parkside, the host of this weekend's meet, also competed in the Tadd Metzger Invitational last weekend, with the Rangers placing sixth in both the men's and women's competition.
