Pawlak is NAC Track Athlete of the Week
WAUKESHA, Wis. -- Concordia
University Wisconsin senior Alex Pawlak
was named the Northern Athletics Conference Men's Outdoor
Track & Field Student Athlete of the Week for events of March
19-25.
Pawlak
(Colgate, Wis.) broke a pair of school records and one NAC record
at the Emory Invitational last weekend in Atlanta, Ga. He had a
time of 14.87 seconds in the 110-meter high hurdles, breaking the
previous conference-mark of 15.04. His time ranks him second in the
nation. The
senior then finished the 400-meter hurdles in 55.17, which
set another CUW record and a new personal best by almost one
second. His time in that event ranks him 12th in the nation.
The
Falcons finished fifth of 15 schools at the two-day event.
The
group of Alex Pawlak, Jonny Balsman, Sean Pawlak, and Justin Rogers
took first place in the 4x100 with a time of 42.21 at the Emory
Invitational. They are currently ranked fith in the
nation.
