White named NAC Field Athlete and Co-Freshman of the Year

KENOSHA, Wis. - Concordia University Wisconsin freshman Tyler White (Milwaukee, Wis.) earned Northern Athletics Conference Field Athlete of the Year and Co-Freshman of the Year honors this past Saturday at the league's indoor championships.

White had a very strong showing at the meet Saturday as he earned a first-place finish in the long jump and a second-place finish in the triple jump. He set personal records in both events, jumping 7.01 meters (23') in the long jump and 13.86 meters (45' 5.75") in the triple jump.

White shared the Freshman of the Year honors with two other athletes as Omar Lopez of Benedictine University, and Nick Williams of Aurora were also chosen for the award.

With White's strong performances leading the way, CUW placed fourth at the indoor championships. Aurora won the meet, scoring 134 points. The Falcons finished with 99 points.

White and several Falcon athletes will be back in action this weekend when they compete in final qualifier meets, trying to earn a spot in the NCAA Division III Track & Field Indoor Championships.
