Men's Track & Field finishes fourth at NAC Outdoor Championships
MILWAUKEE - The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Track & Field team finished in fourth place at the Northern Athletics Conference Outdoor Championships. The Falcons had another set of strong performances in day two of the meet, which was held at Raabe Stadium and hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College.
The Falcons men started out the second day with the 4x100-meter relay team consisting of sophomore Dylan Krivoshein (Cedarburg, Wis.), freshman Nick Simich (Barlett, Ill.), freshman Bathong Pham (Milwaukee, Wis.) and junior John Balsman (Rockford, Ill.). It was an exciting race to the finishas CUW finished just behind the team from Aurora University. Balsman caught up with the Spartans final runner right before the finish line but due to a controversy near the finish line, which involved the CUW baton falling, the Falcons were disqualified. The call was protested but ultimately the ruling stood.
In the sprints Balsman took fifth in the 100-meter dash followed by Krivoshein, who finished eighth as the duo combined for five points for the Falcons in the race. Balsman also scored for CUW taking 4th place in the 200-meter dash with his best race time of 22.5. Freshman Mike Prue (Kenosha, Wis.) came into the 400-meter finals seeded third place, but improved by one spot for second place with a time of 50.22. Freshman Damon Nick (Slinger, Wis.) ran a 51.51 (PR) during the finals of the 110-meter hurdles, bringing home the silver.
