NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Junior distance runner Martin Hinze and freshman jumper Tyler White finished the 2013 Track & Field season by competing at the Gregory Final Qualifier Friday, hosted by North Central College.
Hinze (Bourbonnais, Ill.) posted a 4:01.57 in the 1,500-meter run, which was two seconds off his personal best time in the event. He placed 17th out of 51, which was won by John Crain of North Central (3:50.41).
White (Milwaukee, Wis.) competed in the long jump where he finished in 14th place. The freshman leaped 6.17 meters to conclude his first season of collegiate competition. White only was able to jump once before suffering an injury, forcing him to withdraw from the triple jump as well.
Hinze and White concluded another successful season for the Concordia University Wisconsin Track & Field teams and both athletes have high hopes of qualifying for the national meet in 2014.
