Men's Cross Country place 21st, Women's Cross Country finishes 22nd
MINNEAPOLIS – The weather was great for the 27th Annual Roy Griak Invitational and a great field was assembled for the Division III races. The Falcon men placed 21st out of 27 competing teams, while the women finished 22nd out of 29 teams.
"Overall, both teams had a poor performance and ended up running slower than what we wanted to," head coach Russ DeLap said. "Maybe it was the tough week of training and not cutting back at all for the toughest course we run on all year. We are training through each race until we get to the conference championships."
Senior Bethany Doerr (Chilton, Wis.) ran 25:12.9 and led the team with a 115th place finish. On the men's side, junior Martin Hinze (Bourbonnais, Ill.) led the Falcons with a 27:38.1 time for the 8K event.
Next on the schedule for both teams is the Wisconsin State Private College Invite on Oct. 13. The event will take place at Leeson Park in Beloit, Wis.
