Cross Country ends season at NCAA Division III Midwest Regionals

WINNECONNE, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin's men's and women's cross country teams ended their seasons on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regionals, which was run at Lake Breeze Golf Course and hosted by UW-Oshkosh.

The Falcons men 23rd out of 39 competing teams, while the women placed 26th out of 40 teams. North Central College's men's team won the team trophy and UW-Eau Claire took the women's team trophy. UW-Stout's Tim Nelson and UW-Oshkosh's Christy Cazzola were individual medalists, respectively.

Junior Martin Hinze (Bourbonnais, Ill.) and sophomore Andrew Coop (Mora, Minn.) paced CUW's men's team with 90th and 92nd place finishes after running 26:31.88 and 26:34.10, respectively.

On the women's side, freshman Larissa Schlitz (DeForest, Wis.) paced the Falcon women with a 106th place finish after running a career-best 24:05.26. Sophomore Samantha Nelson (Frederic, Wis.) was 17 seconds behind, running 24:22.03 for 121st place.
