Falcons defeat Muskies 5-4 in extra innings

It took 9 innings, but CUW's Sarah Cochran eventually scored the game-winner on a squeeze bunt by Holly Zinnecker in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader as the Falcons edged Lakeland 5-4..

Concordia took an early 4-0 lead with Jenna DiMaggio's single plating Stephanie Brunette for a first inning tally before hits by Sara Mihalo, Cochran, Brunette, and DiMaggio led added up to a 3 run second.

Streaks of wildness by CUW ace Danielle Burke eventually allowed the Muskies to get back into the game. Burke allowed only 6 hits but walked 8 and was victimized by 3 errors. The visitors finally tied the contest 4-4 with an unearned run in the sixth.

Cochran doubled with one out in the home half of the ninth and went to third on an error before scoring on Zinnecker's bunt.
