NAC softball announces All-NAC awards

The awards, as selected by the softball coaches of the NAC, include a 15-member First Team, a 10-member Second Team, honorable mention selections, a 10 member All-Freshman team, a 13-member All-Sportsmanship team and the four major awards of Player, Pitcher, Freshman and Coach of the Year.

Aurora University's Anna Snyder (Grayslake, Ill.) was named NAC Player of the Year. The senior pitcher has a 1.48 ERA and is tied for a league-best 20 wins from the circle for a 20-5 record. The conference's all-time strikeout leader has 209 this season which is currently second in the NAC and seventh in the nation. Defensively she committed only two errors in 41 chances for the second place Spartans (32-7, 22-2 NAC).

Benedictine University's Brittany Adcox (Plainfield, Ill./Central), who tied Snyder with 20 pitching victories, was named NAC Pitcher of the Year. The sophomore right-hander has a 1.44 ERA and is holding opponents to a conference-leading .195 average. In addition to her 20-2 record she has three saves, which is tied for the lead in the conference. She is hitting .313 in 80 at bats on the offensive side.

Aurora's Tristan Wilcox (Lafayette, Ind./McCutcheon) was named NAC Freshman of the Year, in addition to her First Team All-Conference and All-Freshman Team selections. The rookie catcher has hit .338 with seven home runs and 12 doubles on the season. Defensively she has a .973 fielding percentage and has caught four runners stealing in 11 attempts.

Benedictine's Kate Keller was named NAC Coach of the Year after leading the regionally-ranked Eagles (34-5, 23-1 NAC) to their first NAC title. In addition to a near-perfect conference record, the 12-year head coach picked up her 300th career victory this past weekend.
