CUW softball edges WLC 11-8 in game two

Concordia, now 23-7, put together a much-needed 16 hit attack to get past Wisconsin Lutheran 11-8 in the second game of Monday's doubleheader.

Steve Crook's team scored 9 runs over the first three innings and needed them all because the usually stalwart CUW defense had lapses.

Cara Landherr was 3-3 while Jannelle Schroder, Abbie Goetsch, Stephanie Kramer, Sheri Weidner, Mariah Giesseman, and Chelsie Strosina each had two base knocks during the early Concordia barrage, but the visitors got within 9-7 in the 4th with 5 of their tallies being unearned thanks to 3 Falcon errors.

Weidner earned the save for starter Jamie Schuh, allowing only 1 run in 3.1 innings of relief.
