CUW scored the only run of the game in the first inning and the intense 1-0 drama lasted until the final pitch of Saturday's first game when Danielle Burke (11-2) lost her no-hitter but won the game on the same play.
Abbie Goetsch singled home Jannelle Schroder to give the Falcons the run they needed, and Burke held the Cougars hitless for 6 2/3.
With two outs and the bases empty in the CU-C 7th, Corrine Kuhn singled but then was thrown out by Falcon center fielder Sarah Cochran trying to stretch her team's only hit into a double.
The play cost Burke her no-hitter but wound up boosting CUW's record to 25-8 overall (16-3 in the NAC) while dropping Concordia- Chicago to 11-10 in conference action. Goetsch had 2 of the Falcons' 5 hits.
