Puch, Women's Golf lead NACC Championship after first round

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. – Weather shortened the opening round of the Northern Athletics College Conference Championship, but it didn't slow down Nina Puch and Concordia University Wisconsin at Trapper's Turn Golf Club.

With just nine holes played on Saturday at was a par 36, 2,945 yard course, Puch (sophomore, Des Plaines, Ill.) fired a six-over-par 42 to tie for first place. Naomi Black (University of Northwestern) also shot a 42 to tie for the lead.

CUW shot a 187 team total and leads by a stroke over the University of Northwestern.

Sophomore Lexi Westphal (Brownsville, Wis.) also shot an impressive nine holes, 43, to tie for third. Freshman Megan Reddersdorf (Marengo, Ill.) carded a 48 and is in a tie for 12th place to help vault CUW into the lead.

Sophomore Madalyn Joannes (Wauwatosa, Wis.) and freshman Veronika Metanova (Palatine, Ill.) each finished with a 54 to round out the Falcons lineup in a tie for 26th.

The NACC Championship will now play to a 45 hole event and will continue on Sunday with the first tee times set for 10:33 a.m.
