Defending power plays has been a real problem for CUW. Such was the case tonight as Concordia-Moorhead (6-6-0) parlayed an overtime penalty into the winning power play tally while dropping the Falcons to 5-6-2 on the season.
"We came back from a 2-1 third period deficit to tie the game with just over a minute left," explained Coach Jim Ingman. "We had the momentum going into overtime but the penalty proved fatal."
Alyssa Isaackson scored in period number two to tie the game for CUW at 1-1 and Alexandra Barton's late lamp lighter forced the overtime. Lea Jondal stopped 39 Moorhead shots before allowing the game-winner.
