UW-River Falls shuts down Falcon skaters

River Falls

CUW cut a 2-0 River Falls lead in half on a Jaime Athens goal early in the final period, but the home team added a pair of subsequent third session tallies in the process of holding onto first place in the NCHA with a 4-1 win at Hunt Arena.

UW-River Falls outshot Concordia 44-27 and got scores from Stefanie Schmitz (first period) and Breanna Hrabe (second) before Athens lit the lamp. Nemesis Hrabe's second goal just two minutes later gave the victors some breathing room.

Concordia dropped to 9-10-2 with the loss while UW-River Falls has accumulated a glossy 12-3-4 record.
