UW- River Falls skaters defeat CUW 5-1

Ozaukee Ice Center

In what was an eerie carbon copy performance, undefeated UW-River Falls defeated Concordia 5-1 Saturday afternoon in women's hockey to complete a weekend sweep of the Falcons.

Just like Friday night, the Falcons jumped on top 1-0 on a goal by Samantha Meuwissen near the end of a first period- a session that Concordia clearly dominated.

Then just like the evening before, River Falls came back seconds later for a game-tying tally before that period had ended to quell the CUW momentum.

From that point on the stat lines changed as the powerful visitors controlled the puck (and shots) in wearing down CUW (1-5-0).

It was just 2-1 RF after two periods thanks to a 19 save second period performance by Falcon goalie Katie Hirsch, but the visitors pulled away in the final segment.
