Third period surge sends UW-Eau Claire past Women's Hockey
EAU CLAIRE, Wis.- The Concordia University Wisconsin women's hockey team fell victim to two goals in a 17-second span that proved to be the difference in its 2-0 defeat against the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, 2-0, Friday night at Hobbs Ice Center.
The first two periods of action Friday night saw a defensive battle as the score remained 0-0 after 40 minutes of play. The 2-0 lead would hold until the end of the game as UW-EC (9-11-4, 8-8-3 NCHA) came away with the victory. CUW was outshot 37-31 as Evans finished the game with 35 saves. Stormer (3-3-1) tallied 31 saves as she recorded the shutout.
