Women’s Lacrosse hosts Oberlin Saturday
MEQUON,
Wis. - Coming off its first victory in program history,
the Concordia University Wisconsin women's lacrosse team will look
to make it two wins in a row on Saturday, when they host Oberlin
College (Ohio) at Fitting Field.
Saturday's matchup is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.,
and will feature Matt Menzl's live
play-by-play audio broadcast and live
stats.
Last Sunday, CUW (1-4) picked up the first win in the
program's two-year history, when the Falcons defeated conference
rival Fontbonne University by a score of 10-6.
Freshman Sammi Reiter (Stillwater, Minn.) continues to
be the team's main offensive threat, scoring four times against FU
to take her season goals total to 15. Senior Marie Melton (Prior Lake,
Minn.) also scored four times on Sunday, and is second on the team
with seven goals. Combined,
Reiter and Melton have scored 22 of the Falcons' 26 goals this
season.
OC is off to a program-best 7-0 start after defeating
North Central College, 11-10, on Thursday night. The
Yeowomen are led by freshman Kate Hanick, who leads the team with
22 goals and 25 points overall. Junior Molly Bloom has also been a
handful offensively, scoring 18 goals to go with six
assists.
