Redden scores three goals, Robert Morris downs Women's Lacrosse

MEQUON, Wis. – Robert Morris University went on an 8-3 scoring run to end the first half before earning a 16-9 non-conference women's lacrosse victory over Concordia University Wisconsin on Thursday at Fitting Field.

Sophomore Hannah Redden (Libertyville, Ill.) was the offensive leader for the Falcons tying a career high with three goals. She also had a career-best seven shots on goal, four ground balls and three caused turnovers.

The five-goal deficit at the intermission was too much to overcome for CUW (2-3), as it was outshot on goal (32-25) and lost the battle for ground balls (42-32). RMU extended its winning streak to nine games after twice holding an eight-goal advantage.

The Eagles won the skirmish for draw control wins in the first half (11-5) and were efficient on the offensive end of the field during the second half. RMU (11-2) had control of the ball for the majority of the final 30 minutes, as CUW committed more turnovers than shots it took on goal.

Senior Sam Meuwissen (Chanhassen, Minn.) picked up a career-high-tying six ground balls for the Falcons, while junior Breanne Geipel (Hartland, Wis.) caused a career-best five turnovers.

CUW will now play back-to-back non-conference games on Saturday and Sunday to complete a three-game stretch away from conference play. Saturday's contest at the University of Dubuque will start at 1 p.m., while Sunday's matchup at Loras College will start at 2 p.m.
