Trio scores four goals in Women's Lacrosse victory at Loras

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Three players found the back of the net four times to help Concordia University Wisconsin earn an 18-2 non-conference victory over Loras College at the Rock Bowl. The victory gave the Falcons their first two-game winning streak in program history.

Freshmen Sabrina Boehlke (Random Lake, Wis.) and Olivia Vogel (Andover, Minn.), along with sophomore Hayley Peppers (Franktown, Colo.) each set career highs with four goals apiece. Vogel also assisted on a career-best two scores in the Falcons largest margin of victory in program history.

The Falcons (4-3) offense continued to click on all cylinders as they outshot the Duhawks 38-4 and won 17-of-21 draw controls. They also finished with a 33-10 advantage in ground balls and set the tone early by winning 12 draw controls in the first half en route to a 13-0 lead at halftime. Senior Sam Meuwissen (Chanhassen, Minn.) helped CUW finished with a game-high 10 draw controls wins.

The pressure was constantly applied on LC's (1-8) defense, as CUW was a perfect 11-for-11 in clear attempts. Over the past two games the Falcons have committed just 19 turnovers, while outshooting their opponents 54-15 on goal. Loras College and Saturday's opponent, the University of Dubuque, are both first-year programs.

CUW returns to Fitting Field for a Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference matchup against North Central College at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
