Kuspa, Lubner, Sanders place at CUW Open
Sanders (sophomore, San Antonio, Texas) placed third in the 149-pound weight division and finished with five victories during the day. He earned one win by technical fall, 15-0, 7:00, over Jacob Smith (University of Chicago) and four by decision, including a 6-0 victory over Elroy Perkin (UW-Whitewater) in the third-place bout.
Lubner (senior, Fredonia, Wis.) earned a fourth place finish after picking up two victories by fall in 2:08 over Aaron Davis (Wabash College) and 2:10 over Eric Franklin (Ellisworth Community College). Lubner fell to Tim Locksmith (Wabash College) by a 7-2 decision in the third-place bout.
Kuspa (junior, Oak Forest, Ill.) took eighth place after winning three bouts during the tournament. He picked up two wins by decision. Kuspa dropped a 7-4 decision to Dillon Francisco (Muskego College).
CUW also had several wrestlers earn multiple victories. Sophomore Casey Kenealy (Hartford, Wis.) won three bouts, while sophomore Sean Ambrocio (San Antonio, Texas), junior Seth Kilkelly (Barneveld, Wis.) and freshman Zak Oranger (Hampshire, Ill.) all won two bouts.
