Ambrocio, Holtfreter earn pins; Wrestling defeats Maranatha Baptist Bible

MEQUON, Wis. – Kevin Ambrocio and Pierce Holtfreter earned pins to help Concordia University Wisconsin's wrestling team defeat Maranatha Baptist Bible College, 39-13, on Friday evening.

The win gave the Falcons four-consecutive dual match victories, their longest winning streak of the season. Overall, just five of the 10 matches were wrestled, as the others were decided by forfeit.

Ambrocio (San Antonio, Texas) earned a win by fall over his opponent before the Crusaders won the next two bouts by decision and major decision to put the momentum in favor of MBBC.

CUW answered with Holtfreter's (Las Vegas, Nev.) victory by fall and freshman John Hinson's (Glendale, Ariz.) decision win (7-0) over his opponent.

The Falcons return to the mat for a Valentine's Day showdown against rival Lakeland College at 7 p.m. inside the R. John Buuck Field House.
