STEVENS POINT, Wis. – No. 11 Concordia University Wisconsin held a lead after three bouts before UW-Stevens Point took control of the wrestling dual and won 34-8 on Wednesday evening.
Junior Greg Sanders (San Antonio, Texas), the defending national champion at 149 pounds, won the matches opening bout by major decision, 20-5, to give the Falcons a quick 5-0 advantage. Junior Casey Kenealy (Hartford, Wis.) took the 165-pound bout by decision, 8-2, to push CUW's lead to 8-4.
UW-SP then won the final seven bouts to win the match. The Pointers won three bouts by major decision and one by fall.
CUW returns to the mat on Saturday, Nov. 23 for the 22nd Annual CUW Open inside the R. John Buuck Field House.
