KENOSHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin won the opening match and two total on Wednesday night, but it wasn't enough before losing 37-8 in a wrestling dual against NCAA Division II UW-Parkside inside Alfred and Bernice DeSimone Gymnasium.
Sophomore Pierce Holtfreter (Las Vegas, Nev.) began the match with a major decision victory, 8-0, at 157 pounds over Dan Argueta to give CUW an early 4-0. However, from then on it was all Rangers as they won eight of the next night matches.
The Falcons second win of the night came from junior Jake Reuteler (New Berlin, Wis.) who earned a major decision win, 11-3, at 197 pounds over Blaine Conner.
UW-P won three matches by technical fall, one by pin and one by major decision.
CUW (0-2) returns to the mat on Saturday for the North Central College Invitational.
