Falcon kickers beat Lakeland 5-1

Box Score: CUW 5, LC 1

Howards Grove, Wis. --
Lakeland (3-5-0) scored first but it was all Concordia from that point on as the Falcons improved to 4-0 in conference play with a 5-1 road win.

CUW's string of 22 consecutive NAC goals without an opponent's score ended just 3:23 into the match when Lindsay Rogers blasted home her ninth goal of the season for the Muskies.

That only served to wake up Ryan Middendorf's troops as senior Kelli Wittenberg (Sturtevant, Wis.), senior Kelly Sippel (Fond du Lac, Wis.) -- Wittenberg assist -- and freshman Hannah Folgate (Austin, Texas) off an Anna Hirssig (freshman, Rochester, Minn.) corner kick all tallied before the half ended to make it 3-1 Concordia.

The Falcons added second half scores by junior Chelsea Driver (Greenwood, Ind.) and junior Lauren Straehler (Pewaukee, Wis.) to leave no doubt as to the outcome. CUW owned a huge 30-8 margin in shots and Falcon goalies needed to make only 3 saves.

Concordia hosts Alverno on Saturday at 3:30pm.
