ROCK ISLAND, Ill.- Game statistics were relatively even, but Augustana (2-0-0) made better use of their scoring chances in the process of handing CUW a 2-0 road defeat Sunday afternoon.
The Vikings got a pair of scores from speedy Taylor Messler and shut down the Falcon offense behind goalie Meredith Chew who made several outstanding saves.
Carley Pfannerstill (Fr./ Grafton, Wis.) and Lauren Straehler (Sr./ Pewaukee, Wis.) combined to fire eight shots during the contest but nary a one found the back of the net for Ryan Middendorf's Falcon booters who fell to 1-1-0 on the seaon.
