Women's Tennis season ends in NAC Tournament
KOHLER, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin won a doubles match, but was unable to rally in singles competition against Edgewood College at the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament on Friday morning, dropping a semifinals dual 5-1.
The pairing of sophomore Catherine Schotte (Pratt, Kan.) and sophomore Kristine Weber (Rochester Hills, Mich.) cruised to an 8-0 victory to give the Falcons (10-8) the first point of the dual. CUW's No. 1 and 2 doubles combination battled hard, but fell 8-5 and 8-2 to fall behind 2-1 heading into singles.
During singles play Schotte and junior Jaclyn Ward (Franklin, Wis.) were able to stay competitive, but both fell.
EC's Shae Beckwith was victorious in No. 1 singles play to end the match in the Eagles favor. The Falcons, 10-1 last Fall, were winless this Spring in eight competitions.
