MADISON, Wis. - Concordia University Wisconsin women's tennis players Meagan Harrington and Julie Spransy enjoyed successful days at the Northern Athletics Conference Individual Tournament on Saturday at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The five-time defending champion Falcons sent four singles players and two doubles teams to the tournament. Overall, CUW finished with a 6-2 record in singles play and a 3-1 record in doubles play.

Harrington (sophomore, Kingsford, Mich.) - the No. 2 singles player - received a first round bye and eased her way into the quarterfinals with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Kamile Udrenaite (Concordia University Chicago) before knocking off Rebecca Hezcko (Marian University) 6-3, 6-2.

Spransy (junior, Brown Deer, Wis.) - the No. 5 ranked singles player - also received a first-round bye and cruised during the next two rounds to advance to the quarterfinals. She downed Kelly Olia (Edgewood College) 6-3, 6-3 prior to defeating April Schmitz (Lakeland College) 6-1, 6-0.

The two again paired with each other as a double team and had no trouble advancing to the semifinals of the doubles portion of the tournament. They knocked off Nicole Shavlik/April Schmitz (Lakeland College) 8-2, before taking down Elizabeth Nelson/Kornelia Nowaczyk (Dominican University) 8-0.

She defeated Maureen Wagner (Aurora University) 6-4, 6-4 and Ann Goyke (Marian University) 6-4, 6-2.
