Milers leads Track & Field women at Rocky Rococo Invite

WHITEWATER, Wis.- Concordia University Wisconsin
head coach Russ DeLap's women's track and field squad scored 30
points to finish in a tie for eighth place among 11 competing
schools at the Rocky Rococo Invitational on Saturday.
Highlights included the efforts of the women's
distance medley team which finished finished third with a combined
13:44.91 effort.
Also impressive were junior Bethany Doerr (Chlton,
Wis.) who finished third and freshman Samantha Nelson (Frederic,
Wis.) who placed fifth. The tandem combined for eight points in the
mile run.
Falcon sophomore Jessica Hennig (Springfield, Ill.)
raced to a 1:03.24 in the 400m dash to earn five points via
a fourth place individual finish. Teammate Emily Mauermann
(freshman, Janesville, Wis.) also earned a point for CUW in that
event with a 1:04.78 timing. Junior Becky Gifford (Madison,
Wis.) earned two points for the Falcons with a seventh place finish
in the triple jump via a 9.6m effort.
CUW's Alexandria Garcia (sophomore, West Allis, Wis.)
was seventh in the 60m dash finals, earning two points. Kelsey
Wagner was sxith in the 800m with a 2:40.8 time.
