Women’s Track & Field places second at NAC Indoor Championships
KENOSHA, WIS. - The Concordia University Wisconsin men's and women's track & field teams competed at the Northern Athletics Conference Indoor Championships inside Carthage College's Tarble Athletic & Recreation Center on Saturday, and both squads came away with outstanding results.
The CUW men placed first in conference with 126 points, finishing ahead of second place Aurora University, who totaled 109.5 points. The Falcon women placed second as a team with 117 points, finishing with just 2.5 points less than first place Concordia Illinois.
The CUW men got a dominant overall performance from senior Justin Rogers (Milwaukee, Wis.), who took first in the Triple Jump, 55m Dash, 200m Dash, along with being a part of the first place 4x400m Relay.
Senior Alex Pawlak (Colgate, Wis.) also had a solid meet, as he continued his stellar indoor season by winning the 55m Hurdles with a time of 7.74 seconds.
The Falcon women got a strong performance from freshman Emily Mauermann (Janesville, Wis.), who earned NAC Freshman of the Meet after individually posting 18.5 points for CUW.
The women's Distance Medley team Kelsey Wagner, Maxine Blohowiak, Caitlyn Stern, and Sarah Maynard finished second in the event with a time 13:41.10.
CUW Head Coach Russ DeLap was
also honored, as he was named Men's Coach of the Meet.
