Women's Track & Field finishes third at Cougar Invitational

RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Concordia University Wisconsin's
women's track and field team placed third behind Aurora
University and host Concordia University Chicago with 79.5
points at Friday's Cougar Inviational.
Freshman Farrah Brown (Franklin, Wis.) had another
outstanding meet, breaking both the CUW and NAC record for pole
vault, clearing 3.33 meters (10' 11"). Sophomore Jessica Hennig
(Springfield, Ill.) came in fourth place with a personal record
vault of 2.58 meters (8' 5.5") edging her up in conference rankings
to sixth place.
Sophomore Andrea Kassees (Waukesha, Wis.) got her
throwing rhythm back this meet with throws in the discus and shot
put securing third place with a throw of 35.71 meters and fifth
place with a throw of 10.58, respectively. Katie Dickes (Freshman/
Kenosha, Wis.) also had a huge couple of days with PRs in the
discus (33.48 meters), hammer throw (31.31 meters) and javelin
(23.68 meters).
Sophomore Kristin Sitte (Greendale, Wis.) ran in the
100-meter for the first time and finished seventh with a time of
13.42 seconds. Other impressive performances and PRs were set by
freshman Rachel Oelhafen (Cedar Grove, Wis.) in the 200-meters and
Jasmin Bowers (Freshman/ Milwaukee, Wis.) in the 400-meters.
The Falcons travel to Ripon, Wis., next weekend for
the 2012 Private College Invitational.
