Danielle Burke needed to be rock solid on the mound and get
terrific defensive support from her teammates against powerful
Benedictine (26-4). That game plan worked to perfection as
Concordia (24-7 overall and 14-2 in the NAC) defeated the Eagles
1-0 in the first game of Friday's doubleheader.
The visitors' Brittany Adcox allowed only two CUW hits but an
unearned second inning run dropped BU, 15-1 in league play, from
the ranks of the NAC unbeaten.
Concordia's Stephanie Kramer doubled and scored on an error for the
game's lone tally.
Burke, meanwhile, was in hot water throughout as she allowed 8 hits
and walked 3, but the Falcon defense was flawless. The game ended
appropriately on a double play line out with the tying and winning
runs on base for Benedictine.
