Results: Parkside T&F Classic
KENOSHA,
Wis. - Making their third trip to Kenosha in the season's
first four weeks, the Concordia University Wisconsin men's and
women's track & field teams competed at the Parkside Track
& Field Classic inside UW-Parkside's Petretti Fieldhouse on
Saturday.
Head coach Russ DeLap
and the Falcons got strong performances on the both the men's and
women's teams, as CUW continues to improve with the NAC Indoor
Championships only three weeks away.
For the men, seniors
Alex Pawlak (Colgate, Wis.) and Vincent Greefkes (Jackson, Wis.)
finished first and second, respectively, in the 55m Hurdles,
crossing the finish line just .05 seconds apart.
Sophomore Sean Pawlak
(Germantown, Wis.) placed second in the 400m Dash, while freshman
Ryan Gardner (Winneconne, Wis.) placed second in the Long Jump and
fourth in the 55m Dash.
Other standout
performers included freshman Andrew Faber (Germantown, Wis.) who
placed fourth in the Shot Put, and senior Justin Rogers (Milwaukee,
Wis.) who finished fifth in the 200m Dash.
On the women's side,
freshman Emily Mauermann (Janesville, Wis.) and sophomore Jessica
Hennig (Springfield, Ill.) finished second and third, respectively,
in the 400m Dash.
In the 55m Hurdles,
junior Becky Gifford (Madison, Wis.) and sophomore Kristin Sitte
(Greenfield, Wis.) both qualified for the finals and placed fifth
and sixth, respectively.
Gifford capped off a
great individual performance by also placing third in the Triple
Jump and the Shot Put competitions.
Both teams will now
have two weeks of practice before participating in the
Pointer/Eastbay Inviational in Stevens Point, Wis. on February
18th.
