ATLANTA, Ga. - Participating in their
first outdoor meet of the 2012 season, the Concordia University
Wisconsin men's and women's track & field teams competed at the
Emory Invitational this weekend on the campus of Emory
University.
The Falcons got solid contributions from a number of
athletes, beginning with senior Alex Pawlak (Colgate, Wis.) who
picked up right where he left off after a stellar indoor season,
breaking the CUW record in the 110m High Hurdles with a time of
14.87 seconds. Pawlak also
set the new school record in the 400m Hurdles, setting a PR of
almost one second.
Freshman Troy Anderson (Burlington, Wis.) also had a
solid meet, setting a huge PR in the long jump with a score of 6.35
meters, while freshman Matthew Sheafer (Fort Wayne, Ind.) set a
personal record in the 5k.
On the women's side, freshman Caitlyn Stern (Mequon,
Wis.) set a personal best in the 1500m Run, sophomore Jessica
Hennig (Springfield, Ill.) set a PR in the 200m Dash, and sophomore
Kelsey Wagner (Kenosha, Wis.) ran a personal best in the 800m
Run.
Next up for the Falcons is the Ted Hayden Invitational
next Saturday, which will take place on the University of Chicago
campus.
