UW-Whitewater Spring Fling Results
JANESVILLE, Wis. - It
was a matchup of Player of the Year honorees on Friday afternoon at
Janesville Riverside Golf Course and Muriel McIntyre won the battle
by finishing third at the UW-Whitewater Spring Fling. The
tournament was played at the par-73, 5,878 yard Janesville
Riverside Golf Course.
McIntyre was paired with Mary
Welch - Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference POY - and
shot a 10-over par 83 in cold and rainy conditions. Welch shot a
13-over par 86, but UW-Whitewater's Claudia Rhien navigated the
conditions, and course, to win medalist honors with a 7-over par
80.
UW-Whitewater won the team honors with a 336
(44-over), while UW-Stevens Point finished second with a 349. CUW
failed to turn in the required four individual scores for a
complete team total.
