WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. – Nina Puch tied for medalist honors on Thursday afternoon to help Concordia University Wisconsin win the Edgewood College Triangular at Trappers Turn Golf Course.
Puch (junior, Des Plaines, Ill.) tied with Ellyn Mortell (Wisconsin Lutheran College) for medalist honors after they both shot a 16-over-par 88 at the par-72, 5,859-yard course. It was the first time this season Puch earned medalist honors.
CUW shot a team total of 396 to defeat the Warriors by 14 strokes, while the host Eagles didn't record a team score because of just two golfers competing.
Sophomore Bridget Slater (Roseau, Minn.) carded a 97, freshman Haley Olkiewicz (Oshkosh, Wis.) shot a 100, sophomore Megan Reddersdorf (Marengo, Ill.) fired a 102 and freshman Madeline Poll (Alto, Mich.) and junior Lexi Westphal (Brownsville, Wis.) each had a 106. The five Falcons took fourth to seventh places. Freshman Amanda Gorshe (Appleton, Wis. rounded out the lineup with a 113.
CUW returns to the links on Saturday for a dual meet with Alverno College at Whitnall Park Golf Course in Franklin, Wis.
