Men's Track & Field compets at NACC Outdoor Championships

MILWAUKEE – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Track & Field team placed fourth at the NACC Outdoor Championships, which took place Friday and Saturday at Wisconsin Lutheran College.

Tyler White (Milwaukee, Wis.) had another outstanding meet of performances for the Falcons as he won the triple jump and placed second in the long jump. White recorded a mark of 13.76 meters in the triple jump, easily downing the competition, while adding a leap of 6.76 meters in the long jump. He fell in the long jump by .01 meters to Deon Conway of Aurora. Malcolm Bowers (Germantown, Wis.) added a fifth-place finish in the long jump for CUW, while Logan Goss (Bolingbrook, Ill.) placed eighth in the triple jump.

Andrew Faber (Germantown, Wis.) showcased his ability to perform well in all four throwing events at the conference championships as he placed inside the top five in each event. Faber posted fifth-place finishes in the shot put (12.33 meters), discus throw (39.31 meters) and javelin throw (49.91 meters), the last of those being a PR. He then posted a third-place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 47.12 meters.

Frank Jesse Long (Elwood, Ill.) also posted a couple strong performances in the throwing events as he finished fourth in the shot put at 13.18 meters and finished sixth in the discus (39.31 meters). Trent Pacheco (Iron Mountain, Mich.) added a top-10 finish in the javelin throw for the Falcons. Also in field events, Josh Lehr (Appleton, Wis.) finished fifth by clearing 3.95 meters.

On the track the Falcons turned in another handful of strong performances, including Brandon Goesch (Germantown, Wis.) who ran to a third-place finish in the 800-meter run. Goesch came in at 2:00.07 in the finals, just under two seconds off the leader. Jake Roy (Appleton, Wis.) placed fourth in the 400, while also adding a PR in the 200-meter dash over the weekend.

In the longer distances, the Falcons were led by a trio of athletes who ran PRs and placed in the top 10 in the 1,500-meter run. Leading that group was Zach Ziemann (Jackson, Wis.) as he placed fourth in the event with a time of 4:10.46. Adam Fell (Mundelein, Ill.) and Emanuel Huerta-Gutierrez (Walworth, Wis.) posted eighth and tenth-place finishes with times of 4:16.79 and 4:24.37, respectively.

Robert Meilbeck (Winthrop Harbor, Ill.) earned a fifth-place finish for the Falcons in the 10K after posting a time of 34:16.36, while Brennan Linse (Jefferson, Wis.) added a fifth-place finish in the 3K steeplechase. Linse finished that race in a PR time of 10:10.10.

Aurora won the men's championship, while MSOE finished second and Benedictine came in third place. The Falcons finished ahead of Concordia Chicago, Wisconsin Lutheran, Edgewood, Lakeland and Rockford.
