LAKE GENEVA, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Triathlon team had its best performance of the year this past weekend at the Lake Geneva Escape Triathlon. All six Falcons competing placed well, led by Mary Karsten, who won her age group in the sprint division.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons impressed in the 20-24 female age division for the sprint distance race. CUW had five competitors in the race and placed all five in the top six, led by Mary Karsten (Waupun, Wis.). Karsten won the age division by completing the race in a time of 1:15.44. Her splits were 8:45 in the swim, 39:54 in the bike, and 23:56 for the run.
- Danielle Morgan (Butternut, Wis.) finished second in the 20-24 age division, while Anne Karsten (Waupun, Wis.) was third. Morgan finished the race in 1:18:15 (8:48, 39:57, 25:41), while Karsten came in at 1:19.37 (8:10, 39:23, 28:13).
- Alicia Hook (Lake Villa, Ill.) placed fourth after posting a 1:28.06 (8:28, 39:29, 28:16). Samantha Hoyt (Sheboygan, Wis.) finished in sixth place at 1:22.22 (7:25, 41:38, 29:45).
- Meghan Klement competed in the 16-19 age division and finished in second place. Klement (Muskego, Wis.) had a time of 1:26.23, completing the swim in 6:53, the bike in 43:29, and the run in 31:54.

- The Falcons will compete on Saturday, October 7 in the East Coast Regional Qualifier in Sarasota, Florida.
